Ever since the age of Vedas and Upanishads, education has been nothing but self – illumination. However in the age of technology and information, the discipline of education is facing a crisis. The crisis has been posed by the mass requirement of skilled individuals and the ideological onslaught veiled under slogans like greatest welfare of the greatest number of people. It is therefore necessary for education to build skills among students and teach them to problematize the world they are living in, to see through the ideological mirage.

Education is essentially the development of innate qualities of a human being. It also aims at making him/her a suitable person for the prevailing socio – cultural milieu so as to eternalize the legacy of human civilization through continuous nurturing. Hence, education is a lifelong process. So we should all, including students, teachers and parents, strive for learning at every single moment of our life. Let a school be a temple where this life long process is inculcated among students.
